of Julius Kahl – Another revision of the AORUS RTX 3080 Master can be found on the official Gigabyte website, which has an additional 8-pin power connector. This is revision 2.0, which allows a theoretical power consumption of over 400 watts.
The -delivery situation for the latest graphics cards from Nvidia has still not improved, but this does not seem to affect the board partners, who continue to work hard on new designs and publish them. Due to the corona pandemic, there was great demand for hardware and delivery problems last year. It is currently unclear when the situation will ease.
Board partner Gigabyte has now listed another model for the RTX 3080 on the official website.
The -Gigabyte AORUS RTX 3080 Master has been on the manufacturer’s homepage for a while, but now another model seems to have been added. This is not a completely new design, but simply a revision of the existing model.
The -big difference between the two revisions lies in the power supply.
The -updated version has an additional 8-pin power connector and can therefore deliver more than 375 watts. Although this specification is sufficient in most cases, the hardware world has already seen custom models of the RTX 3080 last year that were above 400 watts. It is currently still questionable whether Gigabyte wants to exhaust this area.
The -Gigabyte AORUS RTX 3080 Master 2.0 has a boost clock of 1,845 megahertz and is thus just below the Xtreme variant.
