Today, Health Minister Jens Spahn (40, CDU) expressed himself in a government statement in the Bundestag on the start of the corona vaccinations. A one and a half hour discussion is then planned.
From 12.45 p.m. you can see Spahn’s government declaration on BILD Live.
The Federal Ministry of Health assumes that eleven million doses of the Biontech and two million doses of the Moderna vaccine are expected to be available in the first quarter. Both substances have an EU approval. In the course of the year, enough doses are to be delivered that everyone in Germany can be vaccinated.
To achieve immunity, two doses must be injected at a fixed time. The vaccine for Germany is obtained from the EU.
Spahn: No compulsory vaccination for nurses
Because people in medical professions are still hesitant to get vaccinated, Spahn is planning a town hall event in two weeks, at which he will digitally answer questions from nursing staff for several hours.
Spahn rejects the proposal by Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (54, CSU) to consider compulsory vaccinations for this professional group. On Wednesday he said on “Deutschlandfunk”: “In this pandemic there will be no compulsory vaccination. We rely on arguments, we rely on information. ”
The minister also said that he expected corona restrictions until March or April.
