He played in the Bundesliga for a long time before moving to Turkey last September. But Neven Subotic has now terminated his contract there – and has Germany back in view.
Neven Subotic made a total of 232 Bundesliga games. Last September he moved from Union Berlin to Denizlispor in Turkey. But there he canceled his contract.
“I’m not thinking of quitting for a long time. I see my future closer to Germany for personal reasons that have changed in recent months,” said the 32-year-old defender to “Sport1”. He is fit and has “still some goals in mind”. Subotic also played in Germany for FSV Mainz 05, Borussia Dortmund and 1. FC Köln.
“After several months full of discussions with those responsible for the club, there were no serious solutions for a sustainable work concept, and that’s why I decided with a heavy heart to part with the club,” he said. “But even when I go, I take a piece of Turkey and Denizli with me on my journey through life.”
