Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Before a decision by the state government to open daycare centers, the educators ‘and parents’ associations are increasing the pressure on the green-black coalition. It must be clear under what circumstances and at what levels of corona infection daycare centers would be fully opened or closed, said the district manager of the Verdi union, Martin Gross. “We want parents, children and employees no longer to have to wait impotently to see how the country decides,” he said on Monday when he presented a ten-point program for the safest possible opening of daycare centers and primary school care.
The re must be nationwide criteria such as protective masks or a home office solution, according to which it can be decided on site whether and to what extent a facility can be opened, said Hanna Binder, the union’s deputy regional director. This could mean that not all daycare centers open at the same time. “But at least that way we can be sure why they are doing this and that health protection comes first.”
Last Tuesday, the federal and state governments agreed on a general extension of the lockdown and numerous restrictions until February 14th. Baden-Württemberg also supports the resolutions to a large extent. When it comes to education, the state wants to deviate as well as some other federal states. Primary schools and daycare centers in this country could gradually open again from February 1, if the infection numbers allow.
The government wants to decide on Tuesday or Wednesday.
