When creating graphics, editing photos or laying out layouts, there is actually no getting around Adobe Photoshop CC and the like. The Adobe suite is still the top dog in the field of professional graphics work. Accordingly, users have to be prepared for the hefty costs for the monthly subscription. With Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher, the software manufacturer Serif offers strong and affordable alternatives to the Adobe tools Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. To get to know the programs before making a purchase, a three-month test phase is now offered again.
In the current Version 1.8.5 users have received some changes and improvements – especially for graphics tablets and Windows tablets like the Surface Pro. 
The update fixes a problem with tablet input that has existed for several versions and now also allows the user to select Windows Ink or other high-precision pen inputs in the settings.
Otherwise, the improvements in the desktop software consist mainly of minor bug fixes.

The next bigger batch of features can be expected with version 1.9.
The re could soon be an editor for 3D texture files in Affinity Photo.
