This Sunday, 1,838 new corona infections were reported in Austria. The number is well above the reports on previous weekends
Most new corona infections were reported in Lower Austria on February 21, closely followed by the numbers from Vienna. Compared with the otherwise rather low infection numbers on weekends, the numbers on Sunday represent an outlier.
New infections in the federal states
- Burgenland: 49
- Carinthia: 109
- Lower Austria: 496
- Oberösterreich: 245
- Salzburg: 127
- Steiermark: 230
- Tirol: 118
- Vorarlberg: 29
- Wien: 435
So far there have been 445,374 positive test results in Austria. As of today (February 21, 2021, 9:30 a.m.), 8,386 people across Austria have died from the consequences of the corona virus and 420,509 have recovered. The re are currently 1,262 people in hospital treatment due to the corona virus. Of these, 261 are cared for in intensive care units.
