75,000 euros fine for corona violations after the derby

 The  victory in the derby at Schalke 04 has expensive consequences for Borussia Dortmund. Because players and fans violated the Corona hygiene concept, the DFL hummed a fine on the black and yellow.

 The  spontaneous celebration scenes on the club grounds of Borussia Dortmund after the 4-0 derby win at arch-rivals Schalke 04 have the expected aftermath for the black and yellow.

 The  German Football League (DFL) imposed a fine on the Bundesliga club on Monday for violating “the medical-hygienic concept of the Sports Medicine / Special Game Operation Task Force”. BVB announced that it would accept the fine of 75,000 euros. “Borussia Dortmund had already apologized for the behavior of some players sitting in the bus and fans celebrating in front of the training area on Sunday morning,” wrote the club.

On publicly distributed videos and photos it was “clearly visible” that BVB players celebrated the derby victory on Saturday evening in the team bus without distance and without mouth and nose protection and that numerous supporters of the club cheered the team on their return, the league association said.

Watzke apologizes for incidents

BVB managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke had previously apologized. In an interview with Sport1, he said: “We will work through the case and work with the police and everyone involved to ensure that something like this does not happen again. As Borussia Dortmund, we have a great responsibility. We sincerely apologize for this.”
