The property with 6,000 m2 of warehouse space and 700 m2 of office space is located on Schemmerlstrasse in Vienna-Simmering and serves as a pure handling area – the goods are delivered in the morning and distributed throughout the city on the same day. The city logistics object was developed by the Austrian company GO ASSET.
Distribution center on Vienna’s industrial wasteland
Amazon’s newest distribution center in Austria was built on an industrial wasteland; no new areas were sealed for it. In general, the property is entirely geared towards sustainability: It has a photovoltaic system, district heating is used and the capacity to upgrade the fleet for electromobility has been created.
“Amazon has clear and professional ideas and specifications for their modern distribution centers. We understand these needs and are pleased that we can deliver precise and sustainable solutions”, says GO ASSET managing director Andreas Liebsch.
