Arnd Peiffer and Benedikt Doll missed another medal at the end of the Biathlon World Cup in Pokljuka / Slovenia. In the 15 km mass start, Peiffer came in twelfth as the best of the two German starters, while the 33-year-old was almost a minute short of bronze after three shooting errors.

Benedikt Doll (+2: 58.5 minutes behind) only ran 23rd in the victory of Norwegian Sturla Holm Laegreid after a catastrophic shooting performance (6 penalties).

For the German men, as in the previous year at the World Championships in Antholz, one medal remains, Peiffer had won silver in the individual. In the mass start, the veteran (+1: 09.2) lost another podium with two mistakes in the last shooting one day after the disappointment in the relay.

© The  Norwegian Laegreid won his second title on the Slovenian plateau in 36: 27.2 minutes with just one shooting error. Silver went to his compatriot Johannes Dale (2 / + 10.2 seconds), bronze went to Frenchman Quentin Fillon Maillet (2 / + 12.8). Erik Lesser, Roman Rees and Johannes Kühn had missed the qualification for the mass start of the 30 best athletes.
