Silvan Wicki has set a new national record over 60 m at the Swiss Indoor Championships in Magglingen.
Silvan Wicki ran the 60 m at the Swiss Championships in Magglingen in 6.59 seconds. With that he lowered the previous record over this distance of Cédric Grand and Pascal Mancini by a hundredth of a second.
During this time, Wicki is currently number 4 in Europe. The 26-year-old underlined his ambitions for a place in the final in two weeks at the European Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland.
Ajla Del Ponte won the women’s 60m race in 7.15 seconds. The Ticino woman prevailed over Salomé Kora.
The record is still held by Mujinga Kambundji with 7.03 seconds from 2018.
Scherrer with a record, but no EM limit
Chiara Scherrer also set a Swiss record above Lake Biel.
The 25-year-old steeple specialist set a new national record in her victory over 3000 m in 9: 10.33 minutes. However, Scherrer missed the limit for the European Indoor Championships at the beginning of March by 33 hundredths.
The pole vaulter Angelica Moser crossed 4.62 m, bringing her personal indoor best to within 3 cm.
