The British Queen Elizabeth II (94) has congratulated her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan on their pregnancy on behalf of the British royal family. “Her Majesty, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the whole family are delighted and wish them all the best,” said Buckingham Palace on Sunday evening according to the PA news agency.
The baby will be in eighth position in the line of succession after birth, behind grandfather Charles, Harry’s brother William and his children George, Charlotte and Louis as well as papa Harry and little brother Archie. For Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, it is already the tenth great-grandchild.
The family can currently not see each other: Harry and Meghan, married since May 2018, had given up their royal duties a year ago and moved to the USA, the home of the Duchess. The y wanted to stand on their own two feet, they had justified the step. Because of the Corona crisis, they are currently unable to travel to Great Britain, and the family was also separated at Christmas.

In November Meghan reported in an article for the New York Times that she had miscarried after Archie. She suddenly felt a stabbing spasm and fell to the floor with Archie in her arms. ‘I hummed a lullaby to calm us both down. The happy melody was a stark contrast to my feeling that something was wrong, ”wrote Prince Harry’s wife. “I knew when I clutched my firstborn child that I was losing my second,” wrote Meghan.
