On Friday, the British royal family announced that Duchess Meghan (39) and Prince Harry (36) will withdraw completely from the Royal Family.
In the official announcement of the palace it is said that the decision that Meghan and Harry made in early 2020 – to say goodbye to life as senior royals – now brings with it a consequence: «Responsibilities and duties that come with a life in public service can no longer be done this way. ” This means that the couple will no longer pursue their royal duties in the British royal family and will return all honorary military posts and patronage to the royal family.
The two remained “beloved members of the family,” according to the statement.
How is Prince William doing with the brother’s decision?
Harry’s brother Prince William (38) has meanwhile not commented on the topic on his personal Twitter account @KensingtonRoyal. But he should be anything but happy about Harry and Meghan’s departure from the British royal family. William was “shocked and sad” about Harry’s behavior towards the Queen, a source told the British newspaper “Sunday Times”.
The last sentence says that they regard duties and services as “something universal” anyway – which some saw as an overly irritable response to the Queen’s arguments.
On Valentine’s Day, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry announced that they were expecting a second baby. Harry’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth II (94) sent congratulations shortly after the Baby News through a spokesman: “Your Majesty, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and the whole family are delighted and wish them both all the best!” in a joint royal statement.
