Several hundred fans received the bus of the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund after the 4-0 (2-0) in the Revierderby at FC Schalke 04 at the training ground in Brackel – however, the Corona rules were disregarded both inside and outside the vehicle, as shown in the video above or directly here can see.
BVB professional Mahmoud Dahoud filmed the reception in a live Instagram video. It could be seen that the fans had formed a line with Bengalo torches and then crowded together on the team bus. For the most part, the distance and mask requirement was waived. The police were there, according to “Ruhrnachrichten”, but did not intervene.
BVB apologizes for misconduct: “Not to be tolerated”
The distance and mask rules laid down in the DFL hygiene concept were also disregarded during the journey in the Dortmund team bus. On Sunday, BVB apologized for the events in a statement. “With all understandable joy about the derby victory, there were violations of the Corona rules in public yesterday evening during the return trip of the team to the training area, which cannot be tolerated,” the message said.
“We can only apologize and promise to talk to the police and everyone involved in a timely manner about how such scenes can be completely ruled out in public in the future.”
It is currently still questionable whether the DFL and DFB will sanction BVB for the wrongdoing.
