After the clear 4-0 win in the Revierderby at Schalke 04, BVB coach Edin Terzic said that he would be the assistant coach of his favorite club again in the coming season.
“We were always open and honest with each other. I really enjoy being a part of this club and if the club decides that I can best help in the role of an assistant coach, then that’s the way it is,” said Terzic immediately afterwards Derby win against Schalke too Sky.
“We ask our players to leave their ego at home so it would be silly of me if I put my ego above anything else. It’s about the club and the club decided that,” he added.

The 38-year-old was promoted from co-coach to head coach until the end of the season on December 13, 2020 after the release of his then boss Lucien Favre. During the week, BVB announced that they would sign Marco Rose from Borussia Mönchengladbach for the coming season.
Rose has a corresponding release clause in his current contract with the foals, which BVB has now drawn. Terzic, who has worked as a trainer at BVB since 2010, is to assist Rose as an assistant trainer.
