© The  rapid test strategy is now to be discussed at the federal-state meeting next week. © The n it will also be about an opening perspective. Rapid tests should become part of the overall strategy. © The  federal government has already expanded the use of rapid tests in several steps: they are now being used in nursing homes, clinics and schools – but initially only with trained staff.

In the future, new self-tests for the home will also play a bigger role. However, these still have to be approved. According to the Robert Koch Institute, positive rapid tests should also be confirmed in the future by a PCR test in the laboratory, because the rapid tests are not as reliable.
