As reported, the state of Carinthia has defined an eleven-point package of measures due to the high incidence in the Hermagor district. Among other things, the living room and self-tests available in pharmacies in the district from March 1 should be distributed a week earlier. Because this was not possible so quickly through the federal government, the state of Carinthia has now purchased 10,000 self-tests on the instructions of Governor Peter Kaiser. The y will be distributed from Tuesday in the most affected communities of Gitschtal, St. Stefan im Gailtal and Hermagor.
Results of the self-tests do not count as an entrance test
“Please use the test options and please strictly adhere to the applicable security measures. Wear the FFP2 mask, keep a distance of two meters, pay attention to cell phone hygiene, ventilate the interior regularly, ”appeals Kaiser urgently. He explains that the living room tests are designed to give people the ability to quickly check themselves. But he also draws attention to that the results from the self-tests are not considered entry tests. “If your self-test is positive, please call 1450 immediately,” emphasizes the governor.
More vaccinations for over-80s on Thursday
According to Kaiser, the eleven-point package of measures in the Hermagor district with intensified testing and increased contact tracing has already got off to a very good start. “We are also accelerating and intensifying the vaccination of over-80s in the district. On Thursday, more people over the age of 80 will be vaccinated again, ”says Kaiser. This means that around ten percent of the district’s population will be vaccinated, including the nursing home and health sectors. As things stand today it is around seven percent of the population in the Hermagor district
