Donald Trump announces first appearance after the end of the presidency

Former US President Donald Trump plans to give his first speech since the end of his term in Florida next weekend. Trump will appear on February 28 at the Conference of Conservative Activists and Parliamentarians (CPAC), said the spokesman for the American Conservative Union (ACU), Ian Walters.

The  meeting will take place February 25-28 in Orlando, Florida.

The  event will be attended by several members of the former Trump administration attributed to his wing in the Conservative Party. Former Foreign Secretary Mike Pompeo, Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis and South Dakota’s Governor Kristi Noem will be there.

Trump has lived in Mar-a-Lago since the end of his office

Trump lost the November 3rd presidential election to Democrat Biden. But for weeks he braced himself against being voted out of office with unfounded accusations of fraud, thus plunging the USA into a deep political crisis. Since taking office on January 20, Trump has lived in his luxury Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

Most recently, a second impeachment trial against Trump had failed. After the storm on the Capitol in January, Democrats accused him of inciting violent demonstrators. A necessary two-thirds majority in the Senate was not achieved because a large number of Republican senators voted against a conviction.

With the impeachment process, the Democrats had tried to lock Trump for future offices. Despite being voted out of office, the 74-year-old could run again in the 2024 presidential election. With his appearance at the CPAC Trump could underline his future political ambitions.
