Doping ban: Koita and Camara will probably get home leave - football

In the camp of the Red Bull Salzburg champion, they are struggling with the doping bans for Sekou Koita and Mohamed Camara.

The  duo from Mali was withdrawn from circulation for three months by UEFA on Wednesday. “That is of course bitter for us, the two have an incredible amount of quality and potential. But we will make the best of it, we still have a lot of potential in the squad,” said midfielder Zlatko Junuzovic.

According to coach Jesse Marsch, a conversation with Koita and Camara on Saturday will determine how the two Africans will continue in the coming months. Since they are also not allowed to take part in the training, a home leave is likely to be on the program soon, but not for the entire duration of the ban.

“You have to stay fit, you could still play in the last round,” said Marsch. ©

The  last Bundesliga round (32nd round) is on 21./22. May scheduled.

In theory, Koita and Camara could object to the ban through their legal representation. Whether this actually happened was unclear on Friday. Salzburg cannot take legal action against the judgment – the club has no party position in the proceedings.
