Some of the inmates were seriously injured.
A 24-year-old man died in an accident in the Cuxhaven district on Saturday. As the police reported, the man was traveling as a passenger in a car on a country road between the villages of Dorum-Neufeld and Dorum. 
The 44-year-old driver lost control of the car at 5:54 p.m. for an unexplained cause.
The car, occupied by four people, skidded into the side room and hit a tree with the passenger side.
The 24-year-old died at the scene of the accident. Some of the other inmates were seriously injured.
