GERMANY: – STILL POWERLESS –  The  Dax (DAX 30) will probably not really get going at the beginning of the new week either. © www.de24.news

The  broker IG estimated the German benchmark index around two hours before the start of trading 0.2 percent lower to 13,964 points. Two weeks ago, the Dax had reached a record of 14 169 points. However, there were no follow-up purchases and he was last in sight on the spot. Stockbrokers see the market in the field of tension between rising interest rates and optimism in view of the brighter corona situation. At the weekend it became known that the vaccine from Biontech (BioNTech (ADRs)) and Pfizer could also protect against infection with the corona pathogen, according to an unpublished publication. So far, there has only been knowledge to what extent the agent protects against diseases.

USA: – HARDLY CHANGED – Investors continued to be nervous on Wall Street on Friday. After its weakness the previous day, the Dow Jones Industrial (Dow Jones 30 Industrial) initially returned with a new record, but then the tailwind was lost under the impression of increased bond yields. With 31,494.32 points, he then crossed the finish line unchanged in percentage terms. On a weekly basis, it increased by 0.1 percent.

ASIA: – PROFITS IN TOKYO, LOSSES IN CHINA – Asia’s major stock exchanges failed to find a common direction on Monday. While the Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225 rose by half a percent to 30,156 points in Tokyo, the CSI 300 index (CSI 300) with the 300 largest companies listed on China’s mainland stock exchanges recently fell by almost 2, 5 percent. In Hong Kong, the leading index Hang Seng there recently fell by around half a percent. In view of the recent rise in bond yields – especially in the longer maturities – investors are currently concerned that inflation may return too lively. This overshadows the progress made with corona vaccinations. In addition, the stock markets had been strong in the past few months.
