The ÖSV eagle got worse than initially assumed. At the Continental Cup in Brotterode a serious knee injury was already assumed.
The end of the season is therefore inevitable for the 31-year-old Tyrolean. Without surgery, a therapy break of up to eight weeks is assumed. “That pisses me off. I was lucky too, I would not have needed a cruciate ligament operation,” says Schlierenzauer annoyed in the “Krone”.
The big successes didn’t materialize in the end either, but the Olympic and multiple world champion would have liked to have jumped the rest of the season to the end. “I would have liked to have used the perfect hill conditions in the area, and would have jumped in the Continental Cup again.”
Schlierenzauer does not give up and wants to bite through, he is not thinking of quitting for the time being. “I will make sure that my knee can take the full load again.”
