Estonia is completely lifting quarantine for travelers from Germany

Germany is no longer considered a country with an increased corona risk by the Estonian Foreign Ministry. Because:  The  two-week incidence value in Germany is 140.95 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants, the limit is 150.

The refore, according to the Federal Foreign Office, there is no longer any quarantine obligation for travelers from Germany in Estonia. Previously, Germans had to be in isolation for ten days, unless they could prove that they had been vaccinated against Covid-19 or had survived a corona infection in the last six months.

Estonia is a high incidence area in Germany

However, since Estonia has been a high-incidence area on the Robert Koch Institute’s list of risk areas since January 24, tourists still have to be quarantined after their return. Because a quarantine obligation as well as the digital registration applies equally to risk areas, high incidence areas and virus variant areas. Areas of high incidence are countries where the seven-day incidence of new infections per 100,000 population is 200 or higher.

Anyone arriving from such an area must also be tested for the coronavirus before entering the country. According to the current entry regulations, the swab may “have been taken no more than 48 hours before entry”. ©

The  proof must be presented to the carrier, e.g. the airline, for verification before departure.
