Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC is only stumbling through the Premier League:  The  superior champion of the preseason is no longer recognizable these days.  The re are reasons for this, the coach even sees reason for hope. But the U-turn must be completed quickly.

 The  fourth Premier League defeat in a row for English football champions Liverpool FC was particularly painful for Jürgen Klopp. “We’re here, we lost the derby 2-0. We all know how important the game is and that hits us hard,” said the coach after Saturday’s bitter setback against local rivals Everton. Club legend Graeme Souness criticized Sky Sports harshly. “It’s just a shadow of the Liverpool side over the past three years,” complained Souness. “Now everyone wants to play them because they’re an easy target. It hurts me to say that.”

In fact, Klopp’s team, which won the championship by 18 points last year, is no longer recognizable this season. As sixth in the table, Liverpool even threatens to gamble away qualifying for the Champions League. Nevertheless, Klopp practiced slogans to hold out. “

In the derby, the champions fell behind after just three minutes. Ex-Bayern professional James Rodriguez outwitted the overwhelmed Schalker loan from Ozan Kabak and matched Richarlison (3rd minute).

 The  frustration was to see Klopp on the sidelines. “

 The  first goal gave the game a direction that was unnecessary,” he said.

 The  coach didn’t want to talk about the penalty that led to the second goal by Gylfi Sigurdsson (83). “It’s unfair to ask me about it because everyone is asking about it. And that means everyone thinks it wasn’t a penalty. But it really doesn’t matter because the referee thought it was a penalty.”

“It doesn’t look good” – again

 The  uncertainty can be seen in the team. Added to this is the never-ending bad luck with injuries. Against Everton, captain Jordan Henderson had to be replaced after half an hour because of problems with his thigh. “It doesn’t look good,” said Klopp sadly.

Liverpool failed to make up ground in the premier class race. Chelsea FC had previously dropped points and only played 1: 1 (0: 1) at Southampton FC. Coach Thomas Tuchel, undefeated with the Londoners, was annoyed about “missed opportunities”. He was not satisfied with his team. Callum Hudson-Odoi was hit particularly hard, and Tuchel took him off the field just 20 minutes after being substituted on. “Maybe that was unfair, but he didn’t make me feel like he could decide the game,” said Tuchel. “Tomorrow that will be forgotten and we are preparing for Atletico Madrid.”

 The  first leg of the Champions League first leg will take place on Tuesday in Bucharest.
