First bar in Vienna unlocks again with a trick – Vienna

“Dino’s Apothecary Bar” at Salzgries 19 (City) has been closed for months. But now the “Covid-Egg Dance” is enough for Dino’s boss Heinz Kaiser.  The  trained pharmacist and award-winning bartender opens his bar today, Monday, as a corona test station.

“ The  clear line of the Ministry of Health and the timely prospects for the catering industry make it easy for me to decide to open the bar now. It is not for nothing that, unlike many members of the federal government, I studied pharmacy for 14 years to know how we can also make our guests happy in the permanent gastro lockdown, “smiles Kaiser.

Free nose picking instead of American drinks

However, visitors to the “Dino’s Apothecary” actually have to wait for cool drinks from the pharmacist’s laboratory. Only when the bar is reopened as a bar will it be poured again. On the other hand, the traditional bar more than lives up to its name:  The  “Dino’s” actually opens as a pharmacy in which guests can test themselves for their next visit to the hairdresser or other leisure activities apart from gastronomic delights. Pharmacist Kaiser, who runs the “Pharmacy for the Good Shepherd” in Leopoldstadt in day-to-day business, this time not using his university knowledge for unique cocktail creations, but for Covid-19 tests.

Bar visitors can look forward to their legal detour to the catering trade in two ways: Not only will they see the inside of a bar again after what feels like an eternity, there is also the Covid-19 test with an e-card and official ID for free .  The  tests are carried out by Kaiser’s team of pharmacists in cooperation with Virinnox, one of the first Austrian providers of rapid test strategies and Covid-19 security concepts.

From Monday to Saturday, from 12 noon to 7.30 pm, Apotheker Kaiser opens the gates of the bar, which has been converted into a test center. Registration is not mandatory, but is recommended to avoid short waiting times. Appointments can be reserved on the Virinnox website at virinnox.com from Monday, February 22, 2021.

Testing is also carried out in Café Siebenbrunnen

Testing instead of entertaining is also on the program in Café Siebenbrunnen at Reinprechtsdorfer Straße 29 (Margareten). A rapid antigen test can be completed here with a pharmacist three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday).
