The trial of a man who is said to have stabbed a friend in the dispute over his ex-girlfriend began today at the regional court in Flensburg. He confessed the act.
The defendant admitted killing a 44-year-old friend on the street in Handewitt. He had recently learned from his long-time girlfriend that she had a relationship with the 44-year-old, the defendant said on Tuesday. A week earlier, the woman had already told him that she wanted to separate, but he had not taken it seriously.
The prosecutor’s office accuses the defendant of stabbing his victim with a kitchen knife about 20 centimeters long after a scramble last September. He pierced the heart with a stab. That led directly to the death of the then 44-year-old man, so the prosecution.
The trial has been scheduled for seven days and the verdict is expected for the end of April.
