It is probably the end of “Kimye”, as the celebrity couple is called in America: After almost seven years of marriage, the US reality star Kim Kardashian (40) has filed for divorce from rap superstar Kanye West (43).  The  application was received by the Superior Court in Los Angeles on Friday, said an employee of the court of the German Press Agency.

Kardashian’s spokeswoman Christy Welder confirmed to the US newspaper “USA Today” that the divorce petition had been filed.  The  West spokesperson team initially did not respond to inquiries.

 The re was also radio silence on the profiles of the two celebrities on social media.

Kardashian and West have four children: the eldest daughter North is seven years old, followed by son Saint (five), daughter Chicago (three) and son Psalm, who turns two in May. Kardashian cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the move, as the entertainment magazine “US Weekly” reported, citing the court documents submitted.

 The  celebrity portal “TMZ.com” had reported that Kardashian turned on the divorce expert Laura Wasser. This stood by the TV star with the second divorce from the athlete Kris Humphries. In 2011, Kardashian had been married to the professional basketball player for just 72 days. Between 2000 and 2004, Kardashian was married to music producer Damon Thomas.

Kardashian and West first met in the early 2000s, but they didn’t become a couple until years later. In an interview published by Vogue Arabia magazine in 2019 that West conducted with his wife, she described their first meeting. West thought she was the assistant to the singer Brandy, the reality star recalled. «I found you attractive, nice, very charming, really funny, strong. I had a lot of respect for you, but I was really shy, quiet and a little nervous, to be honest. “

 The  later relationship with West made headlines from the start. In 2013, on Kim’s 33rd birthday, the musician asked for her hand in a sports stadium in San Francisco. “Please marry me,” it said on the huge billboard, with a large orchestra playing. Daughter North had already been born for a few months.

In May 2014 they celebrated a pompous wedding in the Forte Belvedere in Florence. Star tenor Andrea Bocelli sang in front of 200 selected guests when the bride moved in. Kardashian was not inferior to the superstar rapper financially.

According to media reports, West has had mental health problems for years. In a 2019 cover story for Vogue magazine, Kim Kardashian mentioned her husband had bipolar disorder. Last July she asked for sympathy for West: “He is a brilliant but complicated person who, besides the pressure of being an artist and black, has experienced the painful loss of his mother and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is his bipolar disorder intensifies, ”she wrote on Instagram.

According to “Hollywood Reporter”, the rapper is said to have most recently stayed at the family ranch in the US state of Wyoming, while Kardashian lives with the children in a luxury villa near Los Angeles.

 The  news of the divorce petition met with divided echo and ridicule on social media. “I never wanted to keep up with the Kardashians, and that has not changed tonight,” wrote one user, alluding to the ambiguous title of the program “Keeping Up With
