At the beginning of the year, in January 2021, things actually got quite specific. During the CES it was said that the LG Rollable should appear “soon”. It was known that not LG, but BOE should manufacture the display.
Manufacturers can demand compensation from LG

LG has reportedly instructed its suppliers, including Chinese display maker BOE, to put the rollable smartphone development project on hold, industry sources said.
The parts makers could seek compensation from LG for their development efforts in the future, they added.
LG: Smartphones are losing money
As someone whose first Android smartphone was made by LG, I am emotionally connected to the manufacturer a little.
