It is not due to the logistics that the German vaccination quota lags behind some other countries.

The delay also means that vaccines will have to be transported over a longer period than planned.
Vaccination strategy in two phases
The national vaccination strategy provides for the organization and implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination in two phases: Phase 1 includes the centralized vaccination of preferred people. In phase 2 there is then a broad, decentralized routine vaccination. It begins from the point at which various types of vaccine are widely available and there are also fewer challenges in terms of storage and logistics, for example with regard to temperature requirements.
Procurement then takes place on a decentralized basis through the medical profession, wholesalers and pharmacies, who have to ensure that medical facilities, resident doctors and company doctors receive the vaccines.
The re are 50,000 medical practices nationwide. This requires a comprehensive distribution. However, at least according to the response of the Federal Association of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers (Phagro) to a request from trans aktuell, there are still no tenders.
