Naumburg (dpa / sa) – Free rapid corona tests will be offered at a test station on the Naumburg market from Tuesday to Sunday. All residents of the Burgenland district could be tested, the district announced on Monday. The rapid tests would be evaluated on site; if the result was positive, a laboratory test followed immediately, which was also examined for virus mutations.
“We are concerned that the virus has already formed mutations in Naumburg. So far, 25 of the 30 mutations detected in Burgenlandkreis have occurred in Naumburg,” said District Administrator Götz Ulrich. “With the free offer, we want to get a better insight into the infection situation in the city.”
The Burgenland district is by far the district with the highest number of infections. On Sunday, the Ministry of Social Affairs stated the number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants and seven days as 228.13. Nationwide, the incidence was 92.58.
