Bern – Davos 5: 1
That’s how the game went in the live ticker!
He is still on the Davos gang, assisting coach Christian Wohlwend. Next season, Johan Lundskog (36) will coach the SCB, even if the club has not yet officially confirmed it. And now the Swede meets his future employer twice within 24 hours and immediately loses out in the first duel. The game? A one-sided matter.
The SCB are the better team from the start and deservedly lead 2-0 after the first third. André Heim scores his first goal of the season in the 25th game. A feast for the eyes: The striker, who will play for Ambri next season, receives the disc in his own third, passes all Davosers and hits backhand.
Unlike so often this season, the disc runs for the SCB once. The prime example? The 28th minute. After a bad pass by Thierry Bader from Bern, Lorenz Kienzle and Chris Egli come free in front of SCB keeper Tomi Karhunen, but fail. In return, Vincent Praplan deflects a shot from Jeremi Gerber to make it 3-0.
Blum suffers a concussion, breaks his nose and injures his AC joint. Curious: On Friday against the ZSC Lions (3: 6) 1-0 shooter Inti Pestoni was injured. How long the striker will be out is open. (AR)
Tore: 11. Blum (C. Gerber) 1: 0. 20. (19:29) Heim (Andersson, Scherwey / PP) 2: 0. 28. Praplan (J. Gerber, Henauer) 3: 0. 34. Praplan (Jeffrey, Henauer / PP) 4: 0. 36. Olofsson (Burren, Andersson / PP) 5: 0. 48. Palushaj (Ullström, Nussbaumer / PP) 5: 1.
SCL Tigers – Zug 2:4
That’s how the game went in the live ticker!
The game: The EVZ has other concerns than the SCL Tigers. The fifth duel of the season and third within nine days also goes to Zug. The Leader should give more thought to his goal machines. With Lino Martschini there is now a reason to breathe a sigh of relief. He scored the second goal of the season after 20 goalless games. Was the visit to the OYM shooting range good for him last week? At the EVZ one should now hope for the ketchup effect. The joy about the 2-0 is great. Gregory Hofmann also smiled all over his face afterwards. It is uncertain whether the Nati striker, who later scored his 17th goal with a deflector, will storm for the EVZ next season. Because now the Columbus Blue Jackets have secured the rights to him from Carolina in exchange for a draft pick of the seventh round. The NHL team, with Dean Kukan already from Switzerland, announced that Hofmann would end the season at EVZ. And then? Just as a joke, the Finnish general manager Jarmo Kekäläinen might not have made the deal. Should Hofmann sign a contract with Columbus, the EVZ could benefit from the “Lex Pius Suter” next season in addition to compensation and should employ five foreigners.
And the Emmentaler? Despite renewed efforts you have no chance and lose for the sixth time in a row. At the moment, honorable defeat is the highest of emotions for her. The positive for the Tigers: Goalie Damian Stettler (19), who is replaced by Gianluca Zaetta after 40 minutes, does his job well again. And with Bern and the ZSC Lions, they now have to deal with the opponents they were able to defeat last. (sr)
Tore: 7. Leuenberger (Geisser) 0: 1. 17. Martschini (Alatalo, Hofmann / PP) 0: 2. 27. Rüegsegger (Dostoinov, In-Albon) 1: 2. 30. Alatalo (Martschini, Zehnder / PP) 1: 3. 36. Hofmann (Geisser, Simion) 1: 4. 58. In-Albon (Rüegsegger) 2: 4.
Ambri – Lausanne 2: 3 nV
The game: 19 days after the last match and the quarantine, the Leventines need some time to consolidate their game. Above all, the quality of the pass is initially poor, the first release from one’s own zone too often ends up with an opponent.
Lausanne, in only its second game after the quarantine, is more stylish. Ambri is still working harder and better scoring chances. One problem: the efficiency. The Biancoblu need too many opportunities to score.
Lausanne’s double strike within 31 seconds comes at an inopportune time after an Ambri pressure phase. But with his timeout, coach Cereda immediately trims the focus of the players again. The 1: 2 connection hit in the power play provides even more buoyancy. But goalie Boltshauser then keeps Lausanne in the game with strong saves and a pike big save with the mask when Müller can fire freely after a ricochet from close range. The Leventines still earn the compensation – and with it a point.
In the extension, the Vaudois make short work: The trio Emmerton, Bertschy and Frick, who were sent out, only need five seconds to secure the additional point. That (almost) silences the die-hard Ambri fans who actually hold out in front of the Valascia when it is below zero. (NV)
Tore: 29. Bertschy (Emmerton, Kenins) 0:1. 30. Almond (Roth, Conacher) 0:2. 37. Novotny (Zwerger/PP) 1:2. 46. Flynn (Perlini, Pinana) 2:2. 61. (60:05) Emmerton (Bertschy) 2:3.
Friborg – Biel 2: 4
Tore: 34. Desharnais (PP) 1: 0. 38. Künzle (Fey) 1: 1. 41. Pouliot 1: 2. 50. Brunner (Cunti / PP) 1: 3. 55. Desharnais (Mottet) 2: 3. 59. Komarek 2: 4 (ins leere Tor).
Lugano – SCRJ Lakers 2:4
In the first game since the departure of coach Jeff Tomlinson at the end of the season, Rappi stopped the series from Lugano. The Ticino had previously won eight times in a row. And the points are hardly dry, reports «Aftonbladet» that the Lakers will sign a Swedish coaching duo. This is Bert Robertsson (46), who was recently fired after a year and a half as head coach at Linköping. And Stefan Hedlund (45), who is part of Skelleftea’s trainer trio. He is no stranger to Switzerland. In 2017/18 he coached the EVZ Academy in the Swiss League and was promoted to Dan Tangnes’ Zug staff in the following year. His assistant at the Academy back then? Janick Steinmann, who is now the Lakers’ sports director. (NV)
Tore: 25. Egli (Cervenka / PP2) 0: 1. 25th Arcobello (SH) 1: 1. 28. Herburger (Suri, Loeffel) 2: 1. 30. Clark (Lehmann) 2: 2. 35 Schweri 2: 3. 59. Moses (Cervenka) 2: 4 (into the empty gate).
