Vienna – Monday, February 22nd, 2021, 7:27 am
David Pastrnak becomes Boston’s match winner with three goals. After just 34 seconds he made it 1-0. Joel Farabee (7th) and Sean Couturier (15th) even gave the Flyers the lead in the top duel in the East Division, but Charlie McAvoy (16th) equalized in the first third. In the middle third, Pastrnak takes the lead again after 46 seconds. A three-way strike within 1:39 minutes by Charlie Coyle (47th), Trent Frederic (47th) and Nick Ritchie (48th) finally turns the game in favor of the Bruins. James van Riemsdyk (53./PP) only managed cosmetic results in the final third. Pastrnak (58th) again provides the final point.
The weakened Flyers lose the second game after their corona-related forced break and are in third place in the East Division behind the Bruins and Washington.
The game had been postponed by five and a half hours after the ice problems the day before – the game between the Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche had to be interrupted eight hours (all information >>>). Nevertheless, it was not possible to start on time:
The players had to struggle with visibility problems as the sunset was reflected in the ice, so they waited 20 minutes.
The game between Vancouver (8-12-2) and Winnipeg (11-6-1) also goes into overtime. Pierre-Luc Dubois fixes the 3-2 success of the Jets after 27 seconds.
