The  53-year-old Milton studied violin, conducting, music theory and philosophy at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the University of Michigan and the Juilliard School of Music, among others. At the age of 19 he became concertmaster of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and began a successful career as a solo violinist and chamber musician before turning exclusively to conducting. He is no stranger to the orchestra; he conducted the KSO once three years ago.

“We all hope that the city theater will soon be able to leave the dark times of the pandemic behind and I am looking forward to creating a future-oriented foundation that will bring joy, inspiration and food for the soul to our audience again,” said the future chief conductor. Stiehl emphasized Milton’s international reputation and said of the collaboration with the orchestra: “© www.de24.news
