The Nvidia GPU Technology Conference (GTC) will take place again this year from April 12th to 16th, purely virtual. Despite vaccination campaigns that have started worldwide, it is still too early for an on-site event in San José, California. CEO Jensen Huang will open the in-house exhibition on April 12th with a keynote.
After the MWC in Barcelona, the GTC in May of last year was one of the first trade fairs to fall victim to the COVID-19 pandemic, at least in its on-site form. The ideas for the new Ampere architecture, the GA100 GPU and the A100 accelerator therefore had to be carried out purely virtually.
For qualified participants, the GTC, which is again held virtually, has the advantage that it is again offered completely free of charge. Registration is not yet open, interested parties can be notified by email.
Only one year after the Ampere start in the professional segment is not to be expected with another new architecture this year, it is still too early for that. In addition to Jensen Huang, speakers from Autodesk, Epic Games, VMware and Arm have been announced for the further course of the fair, and more should follow when the program is announced.
