Former US President Barack Obama and musician Bruce Springsteen have started a joint podcast. For eight episodes, the two talk among other things about “Fatherhood, marriage and the future of America”.
In the podcast called “Renegades: Born in the USA”, “the long-time friends discussed their places of origin, role models and modern masculinity, confronting the painfully divided current state of the country – and offering a vision of how we can continue together”.
The two heavyweights have known each other since Obama’s first presidential campaign in 2008 and have been friends ever since. For the new podcast series, they sat down for several days in the state of New Jersey, where Springsteen was born.
At first glance, he and Bruce don’t have that much in common, said Barack Obama in the first episode. “He’s white and from New Jersey, I’m black and I was born in Hawaii. He’s a rock’n’roll legend, I’m … not that cool. “
