Personality show with Tommi Schmitt starts in April

Just about a month ago, ZDF announced that it would give the author, columnist and podcaster Tommi Schmitt his own show (DWDL.de reported). Now there are further details on the planned format:  The  program entitled “Studio Schmitt” is to be seen for the first time on April 8th.

 The re will be a new issue every Thursday from 10:15 p.m., eight episodes will be produced by Seapoint. At 8:15 p.m., the respective issues are already available in the media library.

In the personality show, in which Schmitt also acts as an author alongside Gregor Ryl, Tarkan Bagci and Carla Kaspari, the host regularly provides his personal classification of social, media and cultural events. “From pop culture and politics to populism and celebrities to popcorn and French fries – Tommi Schmitt looks at the world with his very own way of looking at the world and classifies current events. He expresses his opinion and shows a clear stance: relevant, emotional, columnist – sometimes simple just silly, “ZDFneo says about the broadcast.

In the show, Schmitt, who is also active as a podcaster (“mixed hack”), meets “exciting personalities”. According to the broadcaster, he is creating a “safe space” that leaves time and space for conversations and makes surprising situations possible. Studio games and clips are also planned.

Schmitt has also written for TV and comedy shows, including formats such as “TV total”, “Luke! Die Woche und Ich”, “Late Night Berlin”, “Extra 3” and the online formats of “heute show”. As already mentioned, since 2017 he has also presented the podcast “Mixed Hack”, here at the side of Felix Lobrecht.  The  podcast is considered the most successful German podcast on Spotify.
