Sabine Heinrich: Cologne presenter gets quiz show on ZDF

She has been known to the Cologne audience for many years, now she is also making a career on the big TV stage. Sabine Heinrich (formerly 1Live, since 2016 WDR 2 and WDR) will become one of the prime time presenters at ZDF and will have her own show in 2021 – a quiz show at prime time.

“

 The  big Germany quiz – the game for our country” will be the name of the new show, as ZDF announced on Sunday (February 21).

 The  show is produced by the Cologne-based production company Bavaria Entertainment. When the show will be broadcast will not be announced until a later date.

 The  question of moderation, however, has already been clarified: Sabine Heinrich (44) is now strengthening the ZDF moderation team. For months, the station is said to have been looking for a woman who is ideal for the format. Job done!

“I am very happy to welcome a new member to the ZDF family. Sabine Heinrich is an experienced and versatile presenter and journalist. It will be fun to develop a new quiz show together that viewers can look forward to, ”says ZDF entertainment director Dr. Oliver Heidemann.

Heinrich’s career so far, which fans love because of her cheeky, quick-witted but empathetic manner (and the distinctive tooth gap), has been shaped by her stations in Cologne: in 2001 she came to 1Live as a presenter, accumulating a large fan base. In 2016, she said goodbye to WDR, where she could be heard on the radio and seen on TV.

Heinrich (born in Unna) first received national attention in 2010 when she hosted the ARD ProSieben show “Our Star for Oslo” with Matthias Opdenhövel (now

 The  Masked Singer), based on an idea by Stefan Raab.

 The  Cologne TV legend is one of Heinrich’s sponsors.

Heinrich has been part of the team of external reporters for the WDR show Zimmer frei since mid-2010. She moderates the formats “Frau TV” (since 2014) and “Nicht dein Ernst” (since 2020, with Jürgen von der Lippe) herself. So now a new chapter for the winner of the German Radio Prize 2011.

And what does she say herself? “I’m a big quiz fan myself, and I’m really looking forward to guessing, exciting questions and my guests. Together we want to present the best entertainment to people at home. I am looking forward to welcoming the viewers on ZDF soon, ”said Sabine Heinrich. (tw)
