  • Several demand a faster opening of the catering establishments and the modification of the personal limits for indoor events.

Most of the cantons support the Federal Council’s proposals, but are pushing for earlier openings, especially in the catering sector. Here are the three most common requests.

Removal or modification of the 5-person rule indoors: St. Gallen, Uri, Thurgau, Nidwalden.

Earlier opening of the outdoor areas of catering establishments: St. Gallen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Uri, Graubünden, Thurgau, Nidwalden.

Raising the age limit for indoor sports: St. Gallen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Uri, Thurgau, Ticino.

 The  following is all information about the cantons’ proposals and where they want to go further or less than the Federal Council.

Canton of Nidwalden

  • Complete opening of the catering establishments – or at least the outdoor areas.

  • In the case of sporting activities by adults, as in gatherings and private events, a maximum of 15 people should now be permitted.

  • Mandatory home office should be converted back into a recommendation.

From 1. April (If the epidemiological situation is favorable):

St. Gallen

  • General opening of the outdoor areas of catering establishments, also in ski areas.

  • 10-person rule for private indoor events. At the moment the 5-person rule applies.

  • Raising the age limit for sport and culture from 18 to 25 years.

  • No stricter rules for stores and malls than right before the lockdown.

  • Increase group size for sport and culture in the outdoor area to 15 people.

  • Raising the age limit for sport and culture from 18 to 20 years.

  • Indoor sports for groups of up to 5 people

From 1. April (If the epidemiological situation is favorable):

Hate

  • At least opening of the outdoor areas in the catering trade.

  • Children should no longer count when calculating the group size.

  • Raising the age limit for sports from 18 to 20 years.

  • Conversion of the home office obligation into a recommendation.

From 1. April (If the epidemiological situation is favorable):

Grisons

  • Cantons with good monitoring should be allowed to relax more quickly.

Aargau

  • No opening of the outside areas of restaurants without opening of the inside areas.

  • Opening of restaurants in nursing homes when residents are vaccinated.

  • Private events (up to 15 people) outdoors.

  • Sports and cultural events for under 20s.

  • Outdoor amateur sports for up to 15 people.

From 22. March (If the epidemiological situation is favorable):

  • Opening of restaurants and bars at least during the day.

  • Opening of cinemas, theaters, indoor sports facilities (with capacity restrictions).

  • Refraining from holding sports and cultural events with an audience.
