In the past two weeks, around 280,000 people have had themselves tested in pharmacies.
“With the free antigen rapid tests, the pharmacies around the corner help to fight the pandemic in a reliable, safe and uncomplicated way. The pharmacists are giving a great many people more quality of life and freedom and they show that they are there for people and their needs are “, says Ulrike Mursch-Edlmayr, President of the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists
Free rapid antigen tests at these pharmacies
Around two thirds of all pharmacies currently carry out free rapid antigen tests. The specialized pharmacies can be found at www.apothekerkammer.at. Certified rapid antigen tests intended for a nasopharyngeal swab are used.
The sample swabs are taken in compliance with the necessary protective and hygiene precautions. A negative test result is confirmed by the pharmacy and is valid within 48 hours for the use of body-friendly services. If the test result is positive, immediate self-quarantine and a subsequent PCR test are necessary.
The pharmacy reports to the health authorities.
