Techland: Polish studio denies takeover rumors

 The  Polish studio Techland is still independent. According to Eurogamer.net, the Community Manager made this clear again on Twitter after persistent rumors that Techland has been taken over by a publisher for about a year. For some reason, the claims have now come back into focus.
In the clarification it says specifically: “A year ago the same rumor was buzzing through the Internet and the situation has not changed – Techland is an independent studio and was not bought by another publisher.”

I’m getting a lot of dm’s about Dying Light acquisition so I’ll answer here:

Techland is currently (still) working on Dying Light 2 after postponements.

 The  open-world action, which, like its predecessor, is set in a zombie apocalypse, was announced at E3 in 2018, but currently has no new release date.
