Used GeForce RTX 3060 on offer before launch for 900 euros

Current graphics cards are hard to come by in times of crypto mining and corona and if there is an offer, the prices are usually well above the recommended retail price.  The  Videocardz website has now discovered a particularly bold, but also extremely curious case of scalping. For example, three RTX 3060 cards in “used condition” are currently being sold on the Belarusian second-hand goods shopping platform Onliner, even though the graphics card’s official market launch is still pending.

Specifically, these are three models from the manufacturer Gigabyte with the nickname Eagle OC. According to the description, only one of the cards has been unpacked so far. Presumably to determine the cryptomining capacity. Just last week, NVIDIA announced that it wanted to artificially limit the hash rate of the RTX 3060, which is decisive for mining, in order to prevent empty shelves and exorbitant prices again.

 The  provider’s pricing is hard to beat when it comes to audacity. So you ask for an RTX 3060 around 900 euros. For comparison: NVIDIA’s official recommended retail price for the GeForce RTX 3060 is 329 euros, which is more than a third of the price estimated on online users. Even the flagship GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card, if available, costs almost 200 euros less at 719 euros.
