Young people have discovered a body of water in the Glan near Odernheim (Bad Kreuznach district). According to the police, it is almost certainly the missing 13-year-old autistic boy from Meisenheim.
Dead body found during spring cleaning
According to initial information, the young people who found the body are participants in an addiction prevention measure at the Niedermühle in Odernheim.
The y wanted to clean a place on the Glan after the flood of rubbish and debris during a kind of spring cleaning. After the find, some young people are said to have been in shock.
Jonathan has been missing since February
The water corpse was found about nine kilometers from Meisenheim, where the 13-year-old boy disappeared from the Bodelschwingh Center on February 1st.
The boy was autistic and about a two year old. He was said to have an affinity for water, but he could not swim.
In addition to the police, residents also helped with the search – SWR reporter Sibylle Jakobi reported.
Search without success
The police, fire brigade and DLRG had repeatedly looked for the missing boy. Among other things, detection dogs and a helicopter with a thermal imaging camera were used. Police drones had also flown over the area. In addition, the population was very committed, the police said at the time. After a few days, however, the intensive search was stopped.
