Women are appalled by this new Tinder feature – multimedia

 The  principle behind the dating app Tinder is simple.

 The  profiles of other users are displayed on the mobile phone. If you swipe to the right, you give the other person a like. If you swipe to the left, you signal that you are not interested in the other person. If both people like each other, it comes to a match:

 The  two users can start writing to each other.

A new subscription is now breaking with it: If you register for the Platinum subscription with Tinder, you get the opportunity to write to someone without a match having occurred.

 The re are also other functions that Platinum users prefer over ordinary Tinder users. This means that other users will see likes from Platinum users higher up. Depending on how old you are, your gender or where you are, the Platinum subscription costs between 15 and 35 euros per month.

Offer to men

 The  Tinder Platinum offering is aimed primarily at men. It causes criticism, especially among women. “Tinder is now allowing dudes to buy the right to write to women without their consent,” says a Tinder user on Twitter. And ironically, she added: “Thank you Tinder for protecting us so well.”

Other dating platforms rely on different concepts:

 The  popular dating app Bumble requires women to take the first step. If there is a match, only the woman can write to the man. This is intended to put a stop to inappropriate, aggressive and sexist messages.

 The  model seems to be successful: Bumble’s IPO in early February made its founder Whitney Wolfe Herd a billionaire overnight.
