In order to contain the third wave of the corona pandemic, Left Chairwoman Wissler is in favor of also considering company closings.
In an interview with Deutschlandfunk Weekly, Wissler said that if the numbers continued to rise, one would also have to talk about shutting down non-urgently needed productions for a few days in order to break the chains of infection. The restrictions due to the pandemic essentially affect the private sector, emphasized Wissler, and spoke of an imbalance in this regard.
The deputy CDU boss Strobl spoke in the “Stuttgarter Zeitung” for a short and – quote – all-encompassing – lockdown. In the companies, employees should work who must be there or who look after critical infrastructures. The German intensive care physicians also called for a hard lockdown and an immediate stop to planned opening steps.
Regardless of this, Saarland and some cities in North Rhine-Westphalia are planning opening steps as part of a test strategy.
