  • Shops in three other French departments will close on Saturday.

  • The tightened corona measures affect over 23 million people.

  • The lockdown has been in effect in the greater Paris area and in parts of northern and southern France for a week.

Because of the third corona wave, France is expanding its lockdown: As of Saturday, shops in three other departments will close and citizens’ freedom of movement will be restricted. In total, the stricter corona requirements affect 19 administrative districts with more than 23 million people.

The lockdown has been in effect in the greater Paris area and parts of northern and southern France for a week. From Saturday, the Rhone department around the city of Lyon will also be affected, as will the administrative districts of Aube, southeast of Paris and Nièvre, south of the capital. On Friday, the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin declared all of France a high incidence area. A negative corona test for entry into Germany will therefore be mandatory from Sunday.

Do you or does someone you know have problems with the corona time?
