Ralf Dümmel and DS Products – His personal success story
Ralf Dümmel was born on December 2nd, 1966 in Northern Germany, more precisely in Bad Segeberg. The entrepreneur, now known as the juror of the program “Die Höhle der Löwen”, began his apprenticeship at Möbel Kraft, which is why he graduated from secondary school. According to his own statement in an interview with GALA, Dümmel actually wanted to stay with Möbel Kraft – until he met Dieter Schwarz. When asked how he went from being a furniture clerk to an investor, Dümmel replied to GALA: “Through babysitting. The father of the family was Dieter Schwarz, founder of DS, who became my foster father. He could never understand what I wanted about my job in the furniture store I think it’s great. At some point he said: ‘You would be the right one for me.’ We were a great team – I was the younger one who danced on the table, and Dieter looked five years into the future. I started with him as the eleventh employee. ”
Dümmel started working as a sales assistant at DS Produkte in 1988, and one year later he became sales manager. Eight years after joining DS Produkte, he was appointed partner, and in 2000 he became managing director of DS Produkte. Dümmel still works for the company today, which has grown strongly in recent years under his leadership. DS Produkte now employs around 400 people in the greater Hamburg area, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Non-food items in particular are the business. Dümmel is constantly expanding the business of DS Produkte on an international basis.
That is the motto of the “DHDL” judge
In addition to his work at DS Produkte, Dümmel also invented the WasserMaxx soda maker, which he sold in the 2000s.
As a juror for the format “Die Höhle der Löwen” he passes on his knowledge to young founders and companies and invests in the startups for which he sees a future. He has been with “DHDL” since the third season, ie since 2016, and has thus achieved national fame.
He also reveals his recipe for success to VOX: “Will, will, will! Because ability comes from willing. 24 hours a day, seven days a week, minus a little sleep – this is the only way to achieve your goal.”
This is how Dümmel lives privately
The entrepreneur also seems to be doing well privately. Dümmel has three sons from his first marriage and has been in a relationship with the presenter Anna Heesch for several years, who also brings a daughter into the relationship. The couple now live together in Hamburg.
In addition to his day-to-day work, Dümmel is a family man and an avid soccer fan.
