Selipsky has been heading the data visualization specialist Tableau since 2016, which Salesforce swallowed around two years ago.

According to an email from the current AWS CEO Andy Jassy to the workforce, which has now been published on the company blog, Selipsky will switch to the cloud provider in mid-May. He should definitely take over the helm in the third quarter. The designated AWS boss is returning to his old place of work. Because before Selipsky went to Tableau, he was Jassy’s right-hand man and was responsible for sales, marketing and customer service in a COO-like role. He first came to AWS in 2005.

AWS had to look around for a new CEO because Andy Jassy will take over the management of the group operations from Jeff Bezos. The change of the cloud boss to the top of Amazon will also take place in the third quarter of this year.
