The LASK is the first finalist in the ÖFB Cup. Linz celebrated a 1-0 win after extra time at Wolfsberger AC on Wednesday evening. The decision in a weak game brought a converted penalty from Philipp Wiesinger in the 97th minute.
After 90 minutes without a goal, the Wolfsberger Lavanttal-Arena goes into overtime. In the 96th minute, the game-deciding scene happens. Jonathan Scherzer puts Reinhold Ranftl in the penalty area. Referee Gishammer consequently points to the point. Philipp Wiesinger hammered the penalty kick into the mesh to make it 1-0.
The removal of some regular players from the Wolfsberg matchday squad for the ÖFB Cup game against LASK caused quite a stir today. Trainer Ferdinand Feldhofer and President Dietmar Riegler spoke for the first time in an interview with ORF about the decision to do without Michael Liendl, Michael Novak and Christopher Wernitznig.

The second ticket to the final is played by SK Sturm Graz and FC Red Bull Salzburg. The final will take place on May 1st, 2021 in Klagenfurt’s Wörthersee Stadium.
