Berlin (ots) – With their fifth joint project, the author duo Jean-Yves Ferri and Didier Conrad is continuing the work of René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, who created the Asterix universe over 60 years ago. This 39th volume in the series promises to be another exciting adventure! As tradition demands, our friends are going on trips again in the new album. While Asterix and Obelix are playing a game of Gaulish chess, the druid Miraculix, who must have just dozed off, suddenly starts up and announces that an old friend urgently needs his help. But who is this friend and why does he need help? And where does the journey take us and what is it about?
Set designer Jean-Yves Ferri tells us a little more about it: “We put a mythological beast at the center of the adventure. My choice fell on the griffin: half eagle, half lion and with the ears of a horse – a thoroughly enigmatic creature ! “
The new Asterix album No. 39 “Asterix and the Greif” will be released worldwide on October 21, 2021! With around 385 million albums and translations in 111 languages and dialects sold, the Asterix series is one of the most successful fiction series worldwide.
Parallel to the announcement of the title of the new album, it is the anniversary of the death of Asterix creator Albert Uderzo. The Grand Seigneur passed away on March 24, 2020. Jean-Yves and Didier explain: “Albert trusted that we would respect the characters he created together with René Goscinny and what they stand for and continue them in new adventures. We are very upset that he does not more is with us. With the new album, which we hope will delight many readers, we are continuing the mission that he has entrusted to us. “
For the very last time, Albert Uderzo brought his influence and ingenious humor to an Asterix adventure.
