Biel in quarantine: Now the point average for playoff participation counts

Due to a corona case, the game scheduled for Friday evening between EHC Biel and Geneva-Servette was canceled. Striker Toni Rajala tested positive for the corona virus on Thursday evening, and Michael Hügli’s test was positive on Friday. Now the game on Saturday has also been canceled.

The definitive quarantine period for the EHC Biel, as ordered by the Cantonal Medical Office, is not yet known, but it is no longer possible to catch up on the games. Qualification must end on Easter Monday.

At the end of the regular season, not all teams have played the same number of games. Therefore, the point quotient is now used. The league announced this on Saturday. According to the regulations, the points of each team are divided by the number of games played and a ranking list is created. This regulation was decided at the league meeting on January 4th.

This regulation is particularly bitter for the EHC Biel. The Zealanders made up many points in the past games and now have to hope for slips of the top 6 teams.

  1. Zug – 2,28

  2. Lausanne – 1,80

  3. Lugano – 1,79

  4. ZSC Lions – 1,72

  5. Fribourg – 1,72

  6. Geneva – 1.70

  7. Biel – 1,63

  8. Davos – 1,52

  9. Bern – 1,13

  10. Lakers – 1,06

  11. Ambri – 1,00

  12. Tigers – 0,66
