Zivkovic from Vorarlberg is leaving the six-time handball champion Alpla HC Hard at his own request and daring to take the step abroad. From the 2021/2022 season, the backcourt player will be on the hunt for goals at the top Polish club KS Azoty-Pulawy. For Zivkovic, this is over for the time being after ten seasons in the Red Devil dress.
The 1.95 meter tall left-hander is leaving Alpla Hard in summer 2021 at his own request, the club announced on Tuesday. After a total of eighteen years with ALPLA HC Hard and ten successful years with the Red Devils from Lake Constance, the 28-year-old self-made player from ALPLA HC Hard is now moving abroad for the first time to the Polish top club KS Azoty-Pulawy, which plays in the Polish super league.
He will miss the club
“With a heavy heart I will leave my hometown club”, Zivkovic announced on Tuesday: “I am incredibly grateful for the great time in Hard and all the many great and unforgettable moments that I was able to experience. The championship titles are definitely something very special. I also really enjoyed the time together with my teammates. We always had a great team and a great atmosphere. I will definitely miss that. “
Home remains hard
At the same time, Zivkovic looks to the future full of expectation: “I am now looking forward to this new challenge and to being able to prove myself again in a stronger league. The way abroad is a big step for me. Sooner or later, however, I’ll be sure return again, because Hard is and will remain my home. “
Start at the age of ten
Boris Zivkovic found his way to ALPLA HC Hard at the age of ten, where he went through all the youth and made it to the first team for the first time in 2011. The first season with the Red Devils ended very successfully for the then 20-year-old with the crowning of the championship title.
Further championship titles followed in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017. With Hard he was also able to win the Austrian Cup twice (2014, 2018) and the Austrian Supercup four times (2012, 2017, 2018, 2019) at Lake Constance. The harder has so far played 34 games in the dress of the Austrian national team.
At the 14th European Handball Championship 2020, held in Norway, Austria and Sweden, Zivkovic achieved 8th place in the Austrian national team, the best result so far at a European Championship. Boris Zivkovic was most recently under national team coach Ales Pajovic at the 27th Handball World Cup in Egypt in 2021.
